Widget linking
By default each widget shows whatever asset it was pointed at. Linking ties widgets together so that changing the asset in one changes it in all of them, which is what turns a pile of widgets into a working terminal.Link groups
There are six link groups, each with a colour. Open the link menu in a widget header and pick a colour to add that widget to the group.
Every widget in the same group follows the same asset. Put a price chart, an orderbook, and a trades feed in Blue and they move together. Put a second set in Yellow and you can watch two markets side by side without either one disturbing the other.
Widgets that are not linked to anything can be set to None, so they stay where you point them regardless of what the rest of the layout is doing.
Target
Target is a separate, unnumbered role. A widget set to Target follows the asset you are actively trading rather than a colour group. Only the Price Chart and Quick Trade can hold the Target role.Following a watchlist
Linking is not limited to a single asset. The Watchlist and Price heatmap widgets can act as the source for a group, in which case they pass a whole list of assets to the widgets following them instead of one ticker. This is how you drive a layout from a list: star the assets you care about, point the rest of the layout at the Watchlist, and the widgets that consume a list will work through your whole watchlist rather than a single market. Not every widget can be linked. Widgets showing your own account data, such as Positions, Balances, and Fills, are always about you rather than a market, so they have nothing to follow.
